We are investigating how quaternary structure influences enzyme regulation. We approach our research questions using techniques from several different fields including biochemistry, biophysics, and cell biology. Our current system is pancreatic acinar cells, the hub of metabolic enzyme synthesis and storage in the pancreas.

Understanding the factors that regulate activity of metabolic enzymes in the pancreas will shed light on the etiology of pancreatitis, a painful disease where enzyme secretion becomes dysregulated, and contribute to the development of new therapeutics to treat it.
